Emotions begin with thoughts


Grief is emotional, but emotions aren’t meant to control us. They are guides, signaling what we need. Through practice, I’ve learned that I can train my emotions, just as I train my body or mind. Understanding the power behind my feelings, and learning how to redirect negative thoughts, has given me a new sense of mastery over my emotional world.
Emotions as a compass: Emotions give us information. They show us what we value and what we need. It’s important to listen and then act.
Mastery through practice: Just as you would practice any skill, learning to manage your emotions takes time and effort.
Positive thinking is powerful: Focusing on gratitude and shifting negative thoughts can change your emotional landscape.
